Description
The form of silver pieces designed by Robert Welch in 1963 served as the model for the Limbrey candlesticks. Heal’s commissioned him to create a line of table silver pieces for their London location. The objects on display were made to order from the Chipping Campden Workshop and were part of the collection that was shown at a special exhibition at Heal’s in 1964.
This contemporary version has an oiled walnut wood base and a mirror-polished, 18/10 stainless steel construction. The hourglass-shaped candlestick disperses light around it by reflecting the flickering flame of a candle. The appealing design of the candlestick is highlighted by the contrast between warm wood and highly reflective stainless steel.
